Snowy "Preyer" [Contest Pre Finalists May 2014]

New England has had an influx of snowy owls from the Artic Circle this winter.
Yesterday was a raw, rainy, foggy and boring day so I took my mom for a ride to the beach, hoping to spot at least one.
We could hardly believe our luck when we saw this owl in the marsh grass.
The raw, rainy, foggy and boring day, suddenly seemed brighter.

Morning Mel, fantastic image, winner in my book!! Seen one this winter but he was way off in another field. Always used the snowy owl as a trademark in my business! #10947129Michelle Alton January 15, 2014
Well, you made MY day too! This is absolutely wonderful. Two weeks ago one of my photo friends wrote that she'd seen a few around Bucks County. I thought she must have mistaken a Red Tail Hawk for a Snowy. (I didn't know that Snowy's were day hunters, and I didn't think we'd see snowy owls this far south). But she was right, and I am jealous!
What a nice treat for your mum! #10947153
