Great image, Allan!! #465400Colleen Braun April 06, 2004
interesting building Allan, I think I agree with your brother,LOL... #465402Sharon E. Lowe April 06, 2004
Very nice Allan - I think it is a very creative building. I would love to see this photographed at twilight. #465421Karen Bacon April 06, 2004
Wow Allan thhat is an interesting photo of an interesting building! But I think I agree with your brother!!lol #465423Michael Wehrman April 06, 2004
Great shot Allan #465456Allan L. Whitehead April 06, 2004
Well, it seems the initial consensus is that Paul is correct, but its early (he, he, he…) Thank you all (Kristen, Colette, Colleen, Sharon, and Karen) for the kind wordds, comments and support. They are all appreciated - Allan #465458Carolyn M. Fletcher April 06, 2004
It ain't that early! Listen to your bro!Allan L. Whitehead April 06, 2004
Sure, now that you're older your an architecural connoisseur (he, he, he…) Thank you so much Carolyn. I always value your insight, comments, and support, my very dear friend - Allan #465480Heather L. Jacks April 06, 2004
Nice shot Allan. It is a very unique building. #465509Judith G. Secco April 06, 2004
Like what you did here with the new sky. I agree with your brother, a total monstrosity but glad you managed to photograph this so well.Robin L. Wehrman April 06, 2004
Outstanding shot, Allan!!!!!!! #465552Allan L. Whitehead April 06, 2004
Thank you all (Heather, Judith, and Robin) for your kind words. Consensus seems to be 3-2 for, vaarrry interesting…One of the best things that I love about BP, is that everyone states their opinions, with no holds barred and no punches pulled. Although I think that everyone is entitled to my opinion (he, he, he…) I ceratinly value everyones opinion highly. Thanks for your honesty and on-going support - your friend, Allan #465566Charlene Bayerle April 06, 2004
I think it's a great building, with lots of imagination!!!!Allan L. Whitehead April 06, 2004
Thanx Charlene, my very dear friend, I always appreciate your insight and comments. I appreciate them and your support - your friend - Allan #465614Cathy Barrows April 06, 2004
Well Allan, it is a great shot, but my jury is still out on the design...i might be with your brother on this one #465687Lori Ditlefsen April 06, 2004
I'd have to agree with your brother too. That's the wierdest, ugliest, strangest building I've ever seen! What were they thinkin! LOL #465732Allan L. Whitehead April 06, 2004
Thanx Cathy and Lori for your valued opinions. The consensus is now 7 - 6 "for". The general opinions in the City when this was proposed were about an even split as it is now. Oh well, live goes on - Allan #465743Bonnie C. Lackey April 06, 2004
Now Allan - the real question is "Would you want to live across the street from this?". LOL, you must have a diverse family - one liberal and one conservative! Thanks for sharing a great shot of a, well, of a unique building! #465817Kelly Abernathy April 06, 2004
Hey Allan - Love the perspective on this, but I've gotta go with your brother on this one :) -K #465820bob cornelison April 06, 2004
If you can make people feel...be it positve or negative...you are an artist! That building is very creative AND ugly! I LOVE IT! #465920Allan L. Whitehead April 06, 2004
Wow, what interesting (and wonderful) comments. I have a nephew who lives right across the street (literally) an architectural student who has "no comment" However I love Bob C's comment "its creative, ugly and I love it"… talk about diverse. Thanx again everyone, this has been a truly great exercise for me - Allan #466022Theresa McCloskey April 06, 2004
this is an interesting bilding - I like it - wonderful effects Allan :-) #466050Susan T. Evans April 06, 2004
VERY COOL CAPTURE ALLAN, VERY INTERESING SHOT!!! #466104Allan L. Whitehead April 06, 2004
Thank you for your kind words and comments Theresa and Susan E, they are truly appreciate, as is thwe on-going support from the BP community and family. Thanx a lot everyone - Allan #466117Brinn MacDougall April 06, 2004
I'm with you're brother on this one. I think a building should blend with the neighborhood. This one looks out of place, but I'm interested if people can use the "Box"..looks like it's no easy way to get there! Good eye and effects on this capture, Allan! #466224Allan L. Whitehead April 06, 2004
Thanx for the honset comment Brinn. If you look closely at the box you'll note a "grey shaft" with a red side as we face "the box" this is an escalator. If you notice on the south face of the building (over the green sign) there are eight grey windows with yellow flashes and these are windows into class rooms on the two floors of the "box". So yes it is ugly and appears out of place, but there are two floors of class rooms that are used by the staff and students. Sometimes truth IS stranger than fiction - Allan #466273Barbara Bergeron April 06, 2004
Interesting image Allan - not sure if I would want to live next to that but it does add color to the neighborhood. It's a wonderul use of color and makes for a great image! NIce catch1 #466339Allan L. Whitehead April 06, 2004
Thanx Barbara, I appreciate your comments. This is an older Yuppy neighbourhood almost in the smack dab in the middle of Chinatown in the downtown core. The Art College itself is also attached to the Art Museum of Ontario. People laughed at the idea of the box being on "stilts" but as seen today it does conjur up some interesting conversations and isn't that what "art" is supposed to do? Thanx again - Allan #466446Terry R. Hatfield April 06, 2004
Very Intresting Building Allan! I Honestly Cant Say Whether I Like It Or Not!At First Glance I Dont But Maybe I Could Warm Up To It!!Nice Capture And A Fine Discussion!! #466637Stephen Zacker April 06, 2004
Very interesting, that's for sure! #466739Allan L. Whitehead April 06, 2004
Thanx Terry and Stephen for your input and kind words. It's been a very interesting discussion, which, of course, will never be resolved.. A friend of mine's daughter goes to the college and she tells me that even the students appear to be split evenly on the issue. I guess the designer achieved his goal of constant discussions about hi project. Thanx again everyone for partaking in this, I really appreciate the comments - Allan #466765Kathleen R. Struckle April 06, 2004
Very interesting image,Allen!! Thank you for commenting on my image the other day. Coming from a great photographer like yourself. It was quite a compliment. #466811Allan L. Whitehead April 06, 2004
Kathleen, thank you for the comment, kind words and compliment. I truly appreciate it. I felt that your photo was definitely worth the compliemt as I enjoyed it a lot. Thanx again - Allan #466826Stanley J. Contrades April 06, 2004
And if you look closely you'll see a ladder between the two yellow shafts in case the escalator doesn't work!! Yikes!!! Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder? I think I just went blind!!! Unique and bold, Allan!!!Allan L. Whitehead April 07, 2004
Thanx Stanley for the kind words and support. I'd forgotten about the ladder (actually access to a utilities room). I want to thank everyone who took the time to comment, this was just an ordinary post that turned into a fabulous running commentary - Allan #466985Allan L. Whitehead April 18, 2004
Thank you so much, Pete - Allan #490407Bernard B. Travers May 02, 2004
Great shot Allan, although I think your brother got it right on this one. Looks somewhat like a refugee from H.G. Wells' War Of The Worlds.Great sky work too. #514928
