OK, from one angled DC shot to another! I took about a gazillion shots at this angle waiting for the flag to look just right.... #1488690Stephen Shoff September 26, 2012
Good for you! I had the same experience -- it took a lot of tries to catch the one image where "it all came together". Great compositional symmetry and repetition here. You filled the negative space better than most of our compositions. #10342606Jeff E Jensen September 26, 2012
Yup, you did good on this one, Deb! #10342630Anthony L. Mancuso September 26, 2012
Yeah that's a super cool POV and the it was worth the wait to get the flag just right... #10342810Debbie E. Payne September 26, 2012
All good things come to those who "Wait", I really like this POV. The important question is ; Who took the picture of you taking a picture of it.? #10342817Michael Kelly September 26, 2012
Great job in waiting for the perfect shot. This is a fresh view of a well photographed landmark and it works beautifully. Filling the frame with the flag was a great idea as there is no way to get a traditional POV shot of that skinny monument that is nearly this dramatic. #10342897Beth Spencer September 26, 2012
Great shot and a great angle...Also a very unique view, and it was worth your wait.. #10342915Rita K. Connell September 26, 2012
really like this shot, the pov is very nice as well and the postion of the flag. I am glad you waited....was the original sky? it looks really good. #10342929

I love this one Deb! It's hard to get a different view of something so famous and I think you did a great job :) #10343701Debbra Bailey September 27, 2012
Thank you everyone! I appreciate the comments :) Rita, this is the actual sky, not a replacement, but I did play with it a bit. It was a pretty drab day, so I tried to enhance what was there! #10343705Aimee C. Eisaman September 27, 2012
Bravo on waiting it out! I really like the POV, angle, and esp. the slight blur at the end of the flag to shows it was blowing in the wind. :~) I do see some color banding in the sky of pink and cyan, but it is so very slight. #10343995lisa anderson September 27, 2012
I agree with everyone :) Your flag is so recognizable; doing a similar shot with a canadian flag wouldn't work as well, I think #10344049Teresa H. Hunt September 27, 2012
I was just going through my shots of the Washington Monument . . . none of mine have the impact this one does. Dang!Fantastic job Deb. I'd hang this on my wall, I really love it :) #10344299

Makes my heart thump just to see old Glory flying and your POV makes it even better. Thanks for taking the time to get this. #10345517Sue C. Cole September 28, 2012
Love, Love, Love this one! #10345711Peter W. Marks September 29, 2012
As others have referenced Debbra, this is a very unusual view of the flag and the diagonal works perfectly. Yup, I like this! #10346716Debbra Bailey September 30, 2012
Thanks everyone! #10347803Susan M. Reynolds October 17, 2012
