CC welcome! This was taken today at Busch Gardens in Tampa. If anyone knows what type of duck this is, let me know! I didn't think to look at the plaques to find out. #573843Dennis Flanagan December 17, 2006

Thanks Dennis! I should have guessed you would know! You're the weatherman and the bird expert! Do you know flowers too? :) I tried to look it up on the Internet, but didn't find it. Now I need to add it to the title! #3713165Mike Rubin December 19, 2006
Nice and sharp with great color. Did you change the background? #3719837Carol Teal December 19, 2006
Thanks Mike for the critique and encouragement! No Mike, the background is dark because of the DOF and because it was shady there too. There were a few lighter spots, nothing you could distinguish but sort of a brownish tint in a few spots, guess that was where more light was coming thru the trees and I cloned over those couple little spots with the blk that was there already. #3719908Shawn M. Thank you Steve! It is amazing how colorful many of the birds are! #3742919Steve M. Harrington December 27, 2006
This is a beautiful image, Carol. I think it would be interesting to see Aix cropped vertically; let him dominate the frame. This would help to satisfy my near obsession with vertical compositions (I'm sure over half my images are vertical!) I should probably seek help! :)Carol Teal December 27, 2006
Thank you Steve! And I, too, do a lot of vertical shots. I took this one as a horizontal though because of objects in the BG that were distracting. However, here is a crop in vertical. What do you think now? #3744773Steve M. Harrington December 27, 2006
Carol, I like this crop better, but then I've told you of my bias. Don't you think Aix looks more debonair? :)Steve #3744816

Yes, he does look quite lovely like this. The only thing I didn't do was up the saturation levels a little so I am taking this one off and adding the new one. Thanks Steve for your suggestion and comment! #3744949Steve M. Harrington December 27, 2006
Now he's got attitude! Well done, Carol. #3744987Larissa M. December 27, 2006

Thank you so much Audrey for your kind coment and words of encouragement! I need to look up this duck (since Dennis told me what he was) to find out more about them. Because he was at Busch Gardens, I don't know if he is a common duck for this area. There were several of them there, and their colors were so beautiful! #3747466Steve M. Harrington January 24, 2007
