Great macro Chris. Only you could make this look good! #495165Chris Budny August 01, 2006
Well, thanks, Tamera! I beg to differ, but I appreciate the compliment! I was fortunate to find it already set against that yellow background. #3110075Sharon Day August 01, 2006
Fantastic shot, Chris!!! I love rusty subjects and really wish I lived near a derelict train yard! Great capture! #3110888Chris Budny August 01, 2006
Much appreciated, Sharon! I wouldn't say I live close to it... was about a 110 mile drive! The latest 3 images in my gallery are all from that trip to Strasburg, visiting the Strasburg Railroad, and the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum directly across the street. Very handy place for train lovers! #3111154Jane M August 05, 2006
Fantastic detail and color Christopher. Maybe I should rethink what I photograph!! #3127307Chris Budny August 05, 2006
;) Thanks, Jane... I've seen quite a few really cool rusty images here; thought I'd keep an eye out for an opportunity. (No pun intended!) #3127594Dennis Flanagan September 26, 2006

CONGRATULATIONS once again, Chris, and best of luck to you with all of your Finalists in the next stage!!Chris Budny October 27, 2006
Thanks, Stan! (Unfortunately, there is no "next stage" for this one---this was acutally an August Finalist. I think perhaps you and Revonda either hit the wrong link to view Sept. Finalists, or, maybe visited my gallery, and thought this was a Sept, in my first row of Finalists?) #3507884Laura Clay-Ballard October 29, 2006
this is one fabulous macro! #3519272Chris Budny October 30, 2006
Thank you Laura; I think it is one of my best so far. #3521737Lynn Haack April 19, 2007
Love this beautiful depiction of "rust" - something not usually considered to be "pretty." It is the truly gifted photographer who can transform something mundane or even unsightly into something remarkably beautiful. You are that someone! Lynn #4187283Chris Budny April 19, 2007
Lynn, thank you very much for your generous words! The derelict trains had so much fascinating detail, when you got up close... the colors of rust, worn paint, bare metal... just scream out for macro images! #4187795Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
